Bordighera by Claude Monet

Bordighera by Claude Monet

painting of bordighera

A small town on the coast of the Mediterranean in Italy where Claude Monet found such a beauty that his weekend trip to this region became a three month stay. I am so into this painting because of the magnificent blue water, the cork tree in the foreground and the town of Bordighera. When I gaze at this painting I feel such a mood of tranquility, each and every brush stroke tells me that Claude Monet was also in a serene and tranquil environment. I can almost hear the birds singing and smell of the seawater that he so magnificently painted. Bordighera is admired by all my visitors and sets a mood of tranquility for the lounge.

Painting Framing Tips

Choosing a painting is difficult because there are so many magnificent paintings to choose from. However, the most important part of owning a painting is to frame it correctly. The frame, when done properly enhances the painting and brings out the color dimension that the artist expressed in the art.

Oils on canvas should not be framed under glass. The canvas must be allowed to breathe and stay firm. The process of framing an oil painting is complex in itself. The framer must know the exact size of the painting and stretch it using stretch bars, making it as tight as possible. The frame must also compliment the colors and not over power the painting. I have had great success framing my paintings at Michaels. I highly recommend them because they understand how to treat canvas.

Remember, selecting your frame is very important and when done correctly will balance the artwork. If you find it difficult to make your selection please seek the advice of a professional.
